Portable Water Analytical Kit
This kit was developed for NGO volunteers who participated in the one day workshop during the year of Fresh Water Year 2003. It is very useful for ascertaining the quality of water at site for few chemical parameters.

Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer
Most advanced technique for determining trace and toxic elements specially cations in water and is based on flame atomization/emission technique.

Turbidity Meter
This instrument is used for measuring turbidity in water in terms of NTU units. Highly turbid water may indicate high amount of suspended solids carried by the river, which in turn may have a bearing on the long term efficiency of turbine blades.

Microwave Digestion System
Mainly meant for fast and complete digestion of samples such as cement, soil, rock etc.

Ion Selective Electrodes
An advanced technique for accurate and precise determination of trace elements and dissolved gases in water. It can also be taken to the field for estimating vital parameters such as dissolved O2 , SO2, NH3, Sulphide, etc.

Calibration Room
CSMRS has undertaken the calibration of its equipments as a part of process of accreditation of its testing facilities to National Accreditation Board of Testing Laboraties(NABL) in consultation with Electronics Regional Testing Laboratory ,North (ERTL(N))., Min. of Comm. & IT. CSMRS has got 401 nos. of equipments calibrated till date. The equipments were calibrated for two types of parameters , Electrical and Non Electrical. Calibration is an ongoing process and in this connection, it is proposed to set up in-house calibration facility under Memorandum of Understanding with ERTL(N).

Total Water Quality System
Comprises of a series of equipments to determine water quality. Very useful in assessing the quality of water and its effect on concrete at dam site.

UV Visible Spectrophotometer
This instrument is useful in determining nitrate, boron, fluoride, iron etc. in water.

Electronics Laboratory

Electronics Division provides support and consultancy to all disciplines/divisions of CSMRS in regard to electronic instrumentation ; Preparation of specifications for equipments; Coordination for calibration and accreditation of CSMRS activities; Repair & Maintenance of CSMRS equipments; Testing & Installation of newly procured equipments; Publication of Annual reports of CSMRS; Coordination for meetings/lectures; Assist senior management for Standing Technical Advisory Committee related works and upgradation of existing lab facilities.
X five year plan scheme.

Muffle Furnace
Very useful for igniting precipitates at high temperatures.

Electronic Balance
High precision balance for weighing any matrix up to fifth digit.

IT Server Room
The IT server room acts as an interface between users and IT enabled services for achieving the e-Governance policy of the Government. The Client-Server model Local Area Network (LAN) is managed from here. The IT automation in respect of various technical divisions and administrative wings are being planned and executed from here.

Flame Photometer
This instrument is exclusively used for determining Sodium and Potassium in water. It is also used for determining alkali contents in cement. Higher the alkali content in cement greater the potential of alkali silica reaction in concrete in case aggregates are reactive.

Conductivity Meter
This conductivity meter is used for determining soluble salt content in water in terms of conductivity. High soluble salts in water can lead to problem with respect to concrete durability and irrigation purposes. Very low soluble salt content may lead to leaching of lime.

Data Logger cum-Water Quality Monitor
This instrument is used for continuous monitoring of parameters such as pH, conductivity, salinity, dissolved oxygen, total soluble salt etc. under insitu conditions. The data logger can continuously monitor all the parameter as per pre designed set programme and is very useful for constant monitoring water quality in river and reservoirs. Special use of this instrument made in Myntdu Leshka H.E. Project (Meghalaya).

pH Meter
This instrument is used for determination of pH either at site or at CSMRS laboratory. pH value is critical factor for concrete durability. Low pH can affect long term durability of concrete.
